    For me changing that section is an improbability but not an impossibility. I’ve said before u2 aren’t afraid to bring the American themes to shows in Europe looking at previous tours but that whole section is very focused on America. It wouldn’t be the biggest surprise in the world if SATS and American Soul got replaced, I think pride, GOOYOW and COBL are certain to stay but shuffling things wouldn’t be out of the question. My money would be on the section to remain the same though.

    Like I said, its more of a personal wish than a prediction. In my fantasy world where they did do this, Im sure they would have worked out the "woman of the world" problem

    Dean I think Staring At The Sun could still work but maybe with some other visuals!

    I thought maybe American Soul would be dropped too but I don't think so. I also wouldn't use Canada as the greatest confirmation for that. At the shows in Toronto in 2015 they still snippeted The Hands That Built America; so while the flag wasn't dropped we still got that theme for sure and I don't think that song was snippeted in Europe?
  4. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the song, but the preference would be to see a shift away from the US-centred rhetoric in Europe. Speaking from a British & Irish perspective, I'm not sure how well it would be received. But I'm sure they are aware of that also. I think it's different when American acts come over and, like Pearl Jam the other week, they are almost apologising for or distancing themselves from whatever the latest crazy episode in the States is, but as Europeans, U2 ought to be able to comment on our own issues. And they usually do to be fair. Or better still, not comment on any issues at all!! That will never happen though.

Screw the narrative little things is the best song on the album it needs to be played, When did U2 turn into a Broadway musical ?Edge always said there should be room for spontaneity in their shows and that they never want it to be predictable ,hopefully when they get to Europe they will shake it up a bit with Milan,Paris and Dublin getting 4 shows, while I get that most will only see the show once with such an extensive back catalogue and the fact that certain parts of the show are weaker than others they have a 2 month break to chop and change and play around with it.
  6. They did drop Hands for Europe in 2015 and gave it a much more European flavour with the what was going on at the time..... Im hoping they would do that again. Nothing agustin America and American Soul I just think it would be a bit daft somehow..... They might just say European Soul instead hahahah

    Yeah SATS would only require a simple visual change to change the focus away from the American theme. American Soul would naturally be too difficult to really get away from the America theme but they might not want to get away from the theme completely. It will be interesting to see anyway, I do feel if there’s to be any significant change that’s where it could come along with the possibility of something new coming into that rotation slot early on, it’s difficult to call but it wouldn’t surprise me to see no significant change to the set either.

    3. Add red flag day as a permanent song
    4. Make Sunday Bloody Sunday fast m
    5. Get rid of SOI section
    6. Replace UTEOTW with wild horses
    7. Keep the HMTMKMKM comic but play the song after that
    8. Add the showman
    9. Replace staring at the sun with please or summer of Love
    10. Add streets
    11. Move beautiful day to the end
    12. Add bad
    13. Add little things

  12. I am usually optimistic, I think EU / UK will get some changes from the NA setlist.

    I can see :

    Get Out Of Your Own Way / American Soul being replaced with Summer Of Love / Red Flag Day

    Swap out You’re The Best Thing About Me and Staring At The Sun with The Showman / Please

    They really need to rotate 2 songs in the main set if they are doing 2 shows in a city

    Say, I Will Follow and New Year’s Day night one, Electric Co and Gloria night 2

    And something is just missing in the encore. But I don’t know what you can add or take away.

    Also, I know in the US basically they try to have concerts done by 11PM, there might be more flexibility in EU / UK arenas.

    Anyway, I hope some things change up, but if not, at least most fans already know what to expect.

    I also don’t know how a crowd in the EU / UK would react to some of the political tones that are used for the shows in US, they even changed a bit around when they were in Canada.

    I still think the show is good, and that is what it is, a show. You are paying to see a show.
