  1. So the U2 tours account didn't have Love is all we have left and The blackout.

So far they've done 20 songs + the 3 expected for the encore so we get 25 in total?

They started at number 2 though so it would still be 24 songs I think. They’ve only listed 19 songs I believe.

    yup
  4. Yeah no way they skip Blackout/LIAWHL.
  5. first post updated with rehearsals in Berlin
  6. NYD has an intro like this

  7. Thats pretty cool, I love NYD anyway so I’m happy to see it being considered again. I’m happy in general with the changes, I might never get to hear SATS or American Soul live though but overall it’s a stronger Setlist I feel.
  8. No surprises on AS being dropped. Doesn’t fit the narrative. Remember this isn’t about individual songs it’s all about whether the narrative works. Thematically NYD works well - a song about the Polish solidarity movement etc.

I’d be interested to know what key they were playing this in. It was very ‘grungy’ on JT30 - I’d guess a good tone down on the original version and a semi-tone down on some of the other live incarnations (the musically minded amongst you will be able to tell me keys and the like I’m sure). Personally I thought the band sounded strong on JT30 NYD and I loved hearing the full album version however I don’t know if that ‘toned down’ version is going to work in that spot now. it feels like it needs to be in a higher key to lift it - closer to the earlier live versions. I’m not an expert on these things but I imagine the key changes due to Bono’s voice and being able to hit those notes?
  9. Rehearsals over (according to U2 Tours). I guess that means no change in the encore and they’re happy with it?

Or it’s a massive surprise and they’ve turned off the PA so no one hears the fact they’re going to come out and play POP in full,sequentially....
  10. I mentioned a while back that the key change I felt was specifically for the ‘and maybe the time is right bit’ which is basically the same chords as the chorus but in the chorus he sings ‘I will be with you again’ low whereas ‘maybe the time is right’ is sung high and probably too high to play in the same key as the album version or previous live versions. When I talk about high and low that’s the octave I’m talking about (I think octave is the right word) as opposed to the key itself.
