2018-08-31 - Berlin
Tour: Experience and Innocence tour
Songs played: 25
Audio recordings: 2
Videos: 1
  1. Back home after an early flight out of Berlin this morning. Still a bit surreal that the band had to break off the show whilst in the middle of an energy flow. Opening night was so powerful and last night's start was great too... ....keeping fingers crossed for all you guys having tickets for Cologne..

I also liked the American intro and setlist better (I guess it's personal, so no wrong or right here). American Soul is a big miss as well when it comes to the energy. Maybe it's time for U2 to let go of One to give the encore some well needed energy too.
  3. Just published my photos from Berlin 1 & 2 on the show pages
  4. Stadtfelder's recording of Berlin 1 is up now

    (Berlin 2 = coming soon...)

They will still play this show at a later date and if Bono has to take some time off, they will be back at some point.

And if not, fans get their money back. It's a win win for everyone,

I was thinking about this as an option this morning, but it's just not a U2 thing to do.They aren't spontaneous, and (with apologies if I'm doing him a disservice) I just get the impression Edge wouldn't be comfortable being the sole focus for any length of time.I know he did karaoke on Popmart but that was one song in a show and deliberately cheesy.Again I could be doing him a disservice but would he be able to go out and play acoustic U2 songs for an hour or so?That sounds a bit of a daft question but he's rehearsed a set amount of songs for the tour, synced to set full-band arrangements and the visuals. He may not be in a position to just play stripped-down versions of the planned setlist, let alone classic/greatest hits material.Somebody like Noel Gallagher could do it,and has done (on occasions when Liam couldn't finish,or even, start,Oasis shows).I think Edge is a much greater musician and technician, but I just can't imagine him coming out to busk for an hour or so.Also, given the unexpected and anxious circumstances last night,I imagine he was concerned about his friend.

I was thinking, maybe this unexpected break (giving Bono's voice a few days rest) gives them the opportunity to reflect a little on this setlist and make some necessary changes....
  7. Just back from Berlin, felt really strange waking up this morning..
  8. This intro
  9. Bono was so confused at the end of the speech and didn't know what to do, Adam came up to him to tell him to take a break
  10. That Red Flag Day video was hard to watch. As soon as it happened it looked like he knew the show couldn't continue.
