Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. A few days ago I stumbled upon the Invisible video. How much older Bono has become in only 3 years...

Haaaaahaaaa. Ok dude. The setlist is formulated to what bono can still sing. Song wise and tuning wise. Let’s see Bono pull a song like Blood out at song #30 in the set. You’re comparing a polished broadway style show to a 3 hour rock n roll concert. Don’t compare. Two completely different styles. I’ve seen both bands dozens of times and they both range from good to great vocally on any given night.

I can't think of another mainstream rock artist whose voice has aged as well as EV
  4. Lest we forget http://loudwire.com/pearl-jam-postpone-london-performance-eddie-vedder-loses-voice/ and I'm pretty sure PJ plays less dates in a tour even if, yes, their shows are longer. Let's wait and see what happens with the sets on the next tour when they're fully rested (and maybe go back to stadiums to conserve energy). I mean, they did 76 shows on I/E, 50 or so on JT and 60 this year.

As for complaints : loved being at Milan 4 this year. Due to about 100% more costs involved, I did not attend I/E. I'm sorry I missed UTEOTW with Edge playing in Bono's hands or Bono walking up the stage during Cedarwood or that he is, for now at least, lower in energy levels compared to 2015.
I missed SOI songs (which are valid in the set since it's a pair of albums anyway) because I prefer that album over SOE. But guess what ? Having watched Paris I'm not convinced they're having a weaker show now.

30 songs sets ? The right vocal range choices and it's doable re: Bono. I'm looking at the drummer though, as to why they play this set length or why the several breaks.

Remember this ? https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/exclusive-u2-interview-chrissy-iley-meets-the-band-on-tour-to-talk-rsi-clean-eating-and-bonos-neardeath-experience-2223nwhpt The guy needs physio before and after the show.
  5. Listened this evening to Copenhagen 2, stopped after 1 hour. After skipping half of the songs played. Then to Paris 6-11-2015, still have a smile on my face. Awsome concert and great setlist structure.

My only two tweaks would be:
Staring At The Sun over Summer Of Love
Red Flag Day instead of Gloria
and I know MOST will not agree but....... ready

American Soul over NY Day (Warhorse that has never been a favorite of mine)
    ducks! LOL

I also think Love Is All We Have Left should still open, but that would add another song so in the interest of making this feasible I can see dropping it.

American soul?????Nobody wants to hear that NYD is in their top 10 best songs ever.
RFD over Gloria not a chance and I'm sure 90% of the audience would prefer the latter .
Hopefully Bad gets played in Dublin screw the narrative lets just Rock

I’d like to hear American Soul...

That said, NYD is one of the only warhorses I never get tired of, so I wouldn’t complain either way. Although, I’ve seen NYD once but I’ve never seen American Soul...

It’s fine me and Blue_Room already sorted out the perfect Setlist for each continent between us, we must be due a phone call from u2 management any time now. (Btw I agree about NYD never get tired of it and this new version is incredible).
  9. I posted this in the Berlin prediction topic:

They are not The Stones, Mick Jagger is 75 years old and he fit like an animal and they cannot stop to tour and Bono's health scare in the past 4 years and "brush with mortality" is a sign to quit to touring when he's ready to say that and we don't know what's happening with the band in 3 years.

Sorry to say that i'm wish him really well and say them spend all your time with your family and friends and aquintances, because you don't know when you see them in the last time,..

    I'm really sorry.

I think it’s a fair point but personally I think this band won’t stop until it becomes (nearly) impossible. Yes they are humans but they are obsessed with music, u2 and everything the band brings if they weren’t they could have finished it a long time ago. I think the biggest temptation could be the 50 year anniversary in 2026, that would be the earliest time I would see a voluntary retirement otherwise they’ll need to stopped in there tracks.
  11. Yes, a good point.
When the band takes a bit long break, and Larry recovers from the psyhio and with Bono nothing bad happens between the break, then they "dream it all up again" and countinues the touring with a last concert 2026-09-25 in Dublin when they all begans like 50 years

    That will be really fine
