U2 may have contractually agreed to this tour with Live Nation and essentially have to do it to not be in breach of contract, like how the full Joshua Tree tour happened in 2017. If U2 have not renewed with Live Nation, this may be the last thing they owe them prior to their arrangement ending in 2020.
