  2. Indeed it was. I remember having great fun with a bunch of girls commenting the concert photos posted there. The concept of "off-topic" was completely alien to us
  3. Looks like Singapore will finally get a show, 21 years after it was first considered.

    It had provisionally been on the PopMart tour itinerary before being scrapped.

Regarding the 2002 Elevation tour, I read a comment from Edge where he said it was when they played the Super Bowl in early February 2002, that it felt like it was the end of an era and that lead to the decision to not go ahead with the 2002 dates. In my mind, I think it was in U2 By U2, but may be wrong.

    In April 2001, I had a ine on one conversation with John Sampson, Bono’s then bodyguard. Anyone who has ever met John knows he is extremely fan friendly. In that conversation, he confirmed to me the return to North America in fall 2001 and that the plan after North America ended in November was to take Elevation to Australia and/or Japan and to go to South America in January 2002 to end the tour. The original plan for 2002 dates was obvious on the first printing of the Elevation tour program where said Elevation 01/02.

    That North American leg was due to end in Los Angeles on November 19th. Later that year they added 2 additional week in the US going through Miami on December 2nd. This came about after they cancelled the Australia and Japan plans and had open time. I attended that Miami show and remember being told that crew members were saying to each other “see you next summer.” I remember seeing those leaked Europe tour dates, but never saw that there was also dates after Europe.

For people thinking it’s real strange for U2 to be planning this short tour 1 year after EI ended, what I heard from a reputable source 10 months ago was it was originally planned to run from late January until the beginning of March of this year. I assume U2 felt burned out and cancelled that time frame for it and will now do it in November to December.

    U2 may have contractually agreed to this tour with Live Nation and essentially have to do it to not be in breach of contract, like how the full Joshua Tree tour happened in 2017. If U2 have not renewed with Live Nation, this may be the last thing they owe them prior to their arrangement ending in 2020.

    Live Nation will certainly want the band to stay with them. U2 are big money makers (if they haven't already signed anything).

    Haha, yes Ken, I have heard it! Great to have a live recording (albeit one song) of a show I went to.

    I have tickets to NJ 1 and 2. Bjornulf on IORR reckons they are still aiming for a mid-June start. The Stones are my priority over U2 this year.

    This last bit is also what I heard, it's the last thing they owe them before they renew.
