  1. yes, but Janus said De Kuip was reserved for 7 days. Of course that doesn't mean 7 shows, but it's quite a long time for a stadium to be reserved.

    The last known contract discussions saw them sign a 12 year deal in early 2008. If that's the deal they are still operating on (and other than one rumour, there's been no news otherwise) then they are probably on that contract through to early next year. So getting Australia done might be the best spot to put themselves in to have a strong negotiating position for whatever contract they are looking for next.

  8. I doubt Madonna would affect a U2 announcement. If I remember correctly, last year U2 and Eminem tickets went on sale at the same time.
  9. The Madonna show is in theaters and apparently VERY expensive. Would have no effect on a U2 tour. I'm fairly sure it's only the state of Queensland that has a public holiday tomorrow, not that it would matter - a day off work gives people even more time to scroll their phones and see a tour announcement.
