Great work nonetheless, you all do a fantastic job
  2. Another disappointment?
  3. The disappointment is that I'm listening to Phil Collins on Triple M ? Nothing's been mentioned. Very unlikely at this time of the day I would say.

I think the big announcement on Triple M this morning was that the rugby player Copper Cronk is retiring.
  4. Very interesting from a FAN or someone with some info BTS thats sounds pretty legit ( no more or less than all the other rumors swirling around anyhow ) oyamaband over at the @U2 Forum.

"U2 and Live Nation are having trouble getting Funding, Sponsorships & Partnerships to seal the deal for The Joshua Tree 2019 Tour of OZ/NZ/Asia, hence the delays in an announcement.

A very close family member who works for a Financial Institution here in Australia has been getting constant emails from Live Nation , which i've seen, regarding Funding, Sponsorships & Partnerships for the tour.

Live Nation are pushing really hard to get this done but time is starting to count down really fast before it will be to late for a Tour for this year.

Live Nation have thrown us off the scent a few times as a delay tactic like "The Tour will have another name and will not be called The Joshua Tree" so we think all the Promo and Merch has to be re-designed and re-approved but in all the emails going back to last year and up to now it's always been touted as The Joshua Tree 2019.

("Songs Of Accent" may see the light of day before a tour to OZ/NZ/Asia)"

This concerns me a bit... and would make sense.
  7. Sounds very plausible to me , also sounds legit , an i heard some time ago that indeed one of the bands relatives works for a large financial institution based in Sydney, im calling this as spot on the issue or issues with the announcement!! Wouldn't it be funny as f$%k if the whole tour fell over at the death, don't discount this as an option!
  8. If the tour falls down because of sponsorship that would suck for us so bloody much
  9. Comes back to that 'rude' ( to some around here) word i keep using 'relevance' in our part of the world and the neglect from the band for the past decade! Out of mind out of sight. The non announcement has even our tight sources like u2Songs and Remy here completely thrown by it and they have been all over every detail about this tour for months now , its a worry , a REAL worry!
  10. There is also some chatter on Twitter that an announcement will now be made tomorrow ! Fingers crossed!

This is somewhat concerning but it also raises a few questions for me:

If it is the case they haven't secured sponsorship/financing why would they have come so close to announcing it today? Multiple radio stations indicated an announcement would happen today and the ticketmaster website leaked the tour. It would seem odd that they would hype a tour announcement and leak a website page mere days before the expected tour announcement date without having funding/sponsorship for the tour cleared.

It also seems a little weird to me that we haven't heard anything about the financing until now. None of the leaks from U2songs.com have indicated that is an issue and I suspect that they have good sources from within Live Nation/other places who would have alerted them to such facts.

Also I find it weird that Live Nation would feel the need to "throw us off the scent" by using delaying tactics. I don't know why Live Nation would feel the need to do this to fans, especially since tour rumours don't really gain mainstream traction; it is really only the hardcore fans who follow this.

I also find it a bit weird that U2 would not be able to find funding/sponsorship for a tour to Aus/NZ/Asia. I would think that a band as big as U2 would be able to find the sponsorship necessary to tour in the area, especially since they are likely to sell out most if not all of the dates they want to play.

I would be interested to see what U2songs.com has to say about that because I trust them more as a source than a guy on U2forums who only has 5 forum posts. I'm not too concerned at this point in time but if this isn't formally announced next week I would start to have some doubts and would start to believe that this might be true. I suspect it is a logical issue/Asian confirmation problem that is holding the announcement back as more than 1 person has mentioned today.
  12. It would be deliciously ironic if a tour which may only be occurring to fulfill contractual obligations to a promoter was now in jeopardy because the promoter can't get sponsorship funding.
