That's also a theory, or another way of looking to it. I believe the Bible is God's definite word, made possible trough the Holy Spirit. The Church has many faces..even the Catholic church has different faces. Priests in America are raping young children, ruining these young lifes as well as the image of Catholic Christians worldwide. Religion is a very important thing, but also a very 'dangerous' thing...I mean, it's easy to hurt people when you are questioning their faith or believes. It's very personal, but also public.

Yeah. Look at the islamic fundamentalists. They say they kill people in the name of their belief. That's very silly. Which religion which says that there is some heaven or paradise etc. and the afterlife, would tell its followers to kill people?
  2. a lot of people point out the bad stuff that happens...

Billy Graham was recently asked something about all the controversies in the religions etc..

    His reply was this.

Everyday, thousands of airplanes take off and land perfectly fine but does anybody go and report that story? No.... but as soon as there is a plane crash is all over the news. Same thing with bad things in religion... there are thousands of good things going on, but as soon as one priest gets a hold of a boy... bam! catholics get a bad name...

the fact remains, we have all fallen short of the glory of God. We all sin, we all have a choice. people make mistakes. accidents happen. people choose to dwell on what they hear in the news though, moreso than the good things. in my honest opinion.

lol...wouldn't that be great if he signed up? Anyways, back on topic. I'm a Christian, although I sometimes have some trouble with certain christians that live a very hypocritical life.

As Bono said "I don't doubt God. It's the religion I'm doubting."
  6. i agree man.. Bono agrees too. there was an interview with some pastor where he was saying he's tired of luke-warm christians...

the road is small to heaven and eternal life but the highway to death is HUGE. very little will make it to the end.

  7. Revelation 3: 15-17

15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!
16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
17 You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

  8. i am a catholic and i belive in God....but sometimes you asking yourself is it wright....are we making mistake....you know what i mean....but im just too young to understand that...... i hope i will....

Doubts, you mean? Everyone has it, humans always want proof, but no-one has ever seen God directly, although we can see Him in the nature and so on. Remember it's faith/belief, not science. If there was proof, it would be science.

Indirect proof is given to anyone who seeks Him and knocks on His door. The Spirit will surely get hold of you.
  10. After 2 pages of Christians...here I come! I am a Muslim, a believer, and I believe in God. Some of my ideas are different from other Muslims, in the recent years I've been able to rediscover Islam, and see it in it's pure form, and I love it.
I have my religion, and I have my life, I live a happy life having fun, and still keeping with my beliefs.

Here is one of the major misunderstandings...it is forbidden to kill innocent people in Islam, period. It's a clear verse of the Quran, it says killing people is the greatest sin there is, it is not allowed, unless it's killing a murderer (eye for an eye you could say)...and then the next few verses are encouraging victim families to forgive the murderer and let them live, and actually praising families who do so. Where did Osama get the other stuff from...I don't know!
  11. And BTW...I too believe that sometimes "religion" blocks people from connecting to God...sticking to rules that don't exist and forgetting about the beautiful parts of it...
  12. Officially, I'm Christian, though I don't practice or even believe.
