1. Personally, I'm not a follower of any religious faith, but was brought up in a Christian manner because my mum is a practising Christian herself, and my dad kind of is to a certain degree, so I've had the best of both worlds in the sense that I've been brought up to look at both the religious and non-religious point of view of things. I used to go to church until I was, oooh, about 13? But I made the decision that it didn't fit the way I see the world, and a lot of things have changed since then, but I've got my understanding of the world and existence and I'm happy with that . To all intents and purposes, I see the main credo by which we should live is that we shouldn't harm others or look to bring ill upon them, and I don't think one needs religion to figure that out (although that's not to simplify or play down the significance of religion to so many other people in the world).

I was going to go into a rather long paragraph about what I believe/understand etc., but then I realised that it would just be easier if people asked should they be interested. Like I say, I'm always happy to talk but I fear that I would go on and on if I were to try and put everything down lol.

Look, I don't have anything against religious people. But I could say a lot of bad things against modern organized religions. I had a lot of bad experiences...

Take Croatia, country I live in...parliament voted new law against discrimination. And now Christians, Muslims, Judes...every religious organization stood against that law. And all that just because new law is saying that you mustn't discriminate someone if he's or she's homosexual.
The law is saying: "Everyone is equal!" and religious organizations are saying: "If you're homosexual you can't be equal before the law."

Priests are having love affairs, all over the world they're sexually abusing children. And Vatican isn't doing much.

As I said, I don't have anything against strict religious people, but I like more when people are creative and trying to find God on their own way, not on the way they're told.

And do you know why Bono wrote "Crumbs from Your Table"? You probably know.

    "From the brightest star
    Comes the blackest hole
You had so much to offer
Why did you offer your soul?
I was there for you baby
    When you needed my help
    Would you deny for others
    What you demand for yourself?

    ...

You speak of signs and wonders
    I need something other
I would believe if I was able
But I'm waiting on the crumbs from your table"

I really get your point, and I agree with most of it. But saying that all the religious organizations are just propagandas is not fair, that is what I am saying. If you put your ideas more clearly you avoid trouble with people and everyone stays happy. Criticize, but with respect.

That's also a theory, or another way of looking to it. I believe the Bible is God's definite word, made possible trough the Holy Spirit. The Church has many faces..even the Catholic church has different faces. Priests in America are raping young children, ruining these young lifes as well as the image of Catholic Christians worldwide. Religion is a very important thing, but also a very 'dangerous' thing...I mean, it's easy to hurt people when you are questioning their faith or believes. It's very personal, but also public.

    Well put.

Yeah. Look at the islamic fundamentalists. They say they kill people in the name of their belief. That's very silly. Which religion which says that there is some heaven or paradise etc. and the afterlife, would tell its followers to kill people?

Or...errr...let's stick to Christianity...Crusades maybe? Kur'an isn't saying "make them Muslims or kill them all". On the other side, Crusades were initiated by Pope!! It was Pope that send tens of thousands children to death. And everything in the name of God!

Or Karl The Great, he wanted everyone to believe, if not, you were a dead man.

I have my religion, and I have my life, I live a happy life having fun, and still keeping with my beliefs.

Here is one of the major misunderstandings...it is forbidden to kill innocent people in Islam, period. It's a clear verse of the Quran, it says killing people is the greatest sin there is, it is not allowed, unless it's killing a murderer (eye for an eye you could say)...and then the next few verses are encouraging victim families to forgive the murderer and let them live, and actually praising families who do so. Where did Osama get the other stuff from...I don't know!

I didn't mean it the way that muslims are murderers. I said it's stupid that someone kills people and says that he does it in the name of his religion.
