Jags are nice. I like Jazzmaster more. The Pickups are great.

Someone recently described the Jag to me as being a lot like an SG! Is this accurate? What is the Jazzmaster like? They're both really cool guitars, I'm very interested in them.

I think Danny is playing Edge's Gibson ES-330, which hasn't really been used since ZOO TV for One (although he did use it for Holy Joe at the POPMART press event back in '97).

Wasen't the 330 used on COBL?

Yeah, it was either that or (I think Jeff may have mentioned) a Gretsch Country Gent...although I think it was the 330...
  4. Anyone have any good pictures of Edge playing his country gent?

The Edge used a Gretsch 1963 Country Gentleman for all performances (I saw) of "City Of Blinding Lights". (Including Brooklyn and promo shows.)

The Edge's Gibson 330 was not used at all on the Vertigo tour. (flood victim)
  6. Here's some piccies of The Edge playing his 1963 Country Gent during "City Of Blinding Lights".

    This is true...

But I still stand by what I said! lol.
  10. 2 questions for Jeff. Neither are U2 related, but what the hell,

    1. What was REMs set when you saw them?
    2. I dont suppose you know how on Nirvanas cover of "The Man Who Sold The World" how the hell Cobain got that tune out of an acoustic?

So does anyone else think it would be awesome if Edge started using the Page guitar Dallas bought?

The acoustic used (I don't remember the model off the top of my head, had a soundhole pickup. Some of the OD and breakup might be from that. Plug that into an amp with some gain and that might get it to break up like the MTV recording. More than likely, he added a bit of RAT pedal (distortion) too.

I have the recently released DVD. I admit, it's a pretty great tone and that show is sad in retrospect.

Not sure if Dallas bought that LP for himself or for Edge. But yeah, be cool if Edge used it.
