Once it's worn out and the tour is over there'll be more relaxed judgements and we'll see where it's placed in the catalogue.

Completely agree. That's what happened to me and most people, I think. Thanks for the cleaned up version Yeah (and Gerrit), appreciate it.

It's just an eq'd version, lots high added. Can't really say it helps.

That's very selective quoting dear Joost.

I was asked for an opinion. How it sounded on the beach. So I explained what my first impression was and WHY it was like that. Furthermore, I explained that when I got a chance to listen to the clips in a more relaxed setting, it sounded a lot better.

Yeah, I know its a bit selective,
    sorry about that!

It's just that I so badly want this album to shock me, surprise me, move me to tears and be radical and groundbreaking (if its not to much to ask.. ) and I just know that all this is not going to happen........ It will turn out to be ATYCLB part 3 I fear.

Thanks for sharing the clips with us! Proud to be Dutch!

Well, I don't know. For instance, Viva la vida (the song) was a complete surprise for me. Instantly loved it, but it already starts to bore me.
I can't really say that AB shocked me. It just took a while to get used to and after that, I loved it. Pop was more of a shock and some of the songs I really like, but it's just one of those albums that I can never play from begin to end.
ATYCLB and HTDAAB are both very ok albums. No shocks, just ok. But what I heared on the beach and now when listening to the clips... It sounds so damn solid. I really like it. I'd rather have a solid album with well written stuff than some so called ground breaking album like Zooropa.
I personally think this album will be better than the last 2 and will satisfy your U2 needs more than you think now Mark my words

I think that's all we can ask for right now.

Agree about Viva La Vida (the song, I mean) lol
  12. EQ'd versions added to the first post. The sound is slightly clearer but the side noises are still prominent.
