1. That second photo is really amazing! The colours and the composition are wuite unique! Congrats Tim

  2. I didn't take that second photo Aidan I hope to take one that is equally as impressive though when I'm next out
  3. Just got time to read the hole thing... I had never realized that all 3 colours would be "on" in a long time exposure.

And well, I really like your photo Tim, but that pic you showed us is mindblowing
  4. It's a clever use of the longer shutter speeds, I saw a photo a couple of years ago and ever since seeing it, I've wanted to try. I think I need to go out and actually take my time to find a shot, the one I posted from the other night was simply a test. I think it was a three second shutter which lasted from the moment the amber light flashed on. Probably use that as my benchmark for when I want to get the good shot.

That second photo I posted, taken by Rob (I think), is a great example of a creative use. The London Eye 'frames' the traffic lights brilliantly.
  5. I'm getting a Nikon P500 next month. I'm really lacking a good camera, my compact is definitely insufficient, but I cant push myself to spend and take care of a DLSR, so a twin camera is my option. BEsides taking "averagely awesome" pics, the P500 also records incredible HD videos and that will make me very happy since it's one of the uses I'm going to give to it (concertsss!!!).

    Isn't it sexxxxyyyyyyyyyy

All in all for 250 bucks. Yeah yeah yEah
  6. I probably need the drunk topic right now but I coudlnt be asred to look for it so good night every1
  7. I also started with a twin camera Sergio (Canon SX5is). They really can't take your photographys quality to another level, and it's the last step before the DLSR. I'm sure you'll love it!
  8. Maybe you'll bless us with even more perfect moon shots now, Sergio.
  9. I took these a while back at six or so in the morning. On a Saturday. When I didn't have the kids. Mental. Still, I think it was worthwhile. One of these was printed in the local paper, so I was dead chuffed with that.

  10. Awesome !
  11. Great photos thejonner! That's my idea of a perfect Winter's morning, where did you take them?

    Sergio: 36x optical zoom? Mooooooooon!
  12. What a great shot, that first one!!! Great great great photo, thejonner

Yes, but it's not only the zoom what appeals to me, it's everything... HD video, great optics, that "all in one" feeling. I know how to use and I love a good DSLR, but I do not want to be carrying 3 different bulky lenses and loads more of equipment everywhere, and I do not want to be paranoid about taking super-duper-extra care of it. If a camera gives me a 20% less quality but feels a 50% more comfortable, I'll take it. And specially for that price.
