Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. Just finished listening to the SJ Night 1 recording and have some thoughts on the set list.

    - Lights of Home needs to move out of that spot, too slow to be the second official song of the show with the band. I would put IWF there.

    - They need to make a change in the 3 song rotation of Acrobat and Staring at the sun, those 3 songs in that order I feel lag the show a bit.

    - I would drop American Soul in favour of Streets or another hit.

    - The encore needs some life.
  2. I love the opening of the show, I didn't like blackout previously but it's really grown on me and I like the visuals
  3. Acrobat Into Streets would be a great opener of the encore. For now I fall in sleep after acrobat.

    And the goal is ROTATION!!!!
  4. Put GOOYOW and American soul after The black-out
  5. Just drop American Soul , worst song on the album and setlist
  6. I love the set just the way it is. Just add wild horses back and there you go.

If energy fades that's the audience's problem for not learning the catalog.

U2 are taking risks again, and it is amazing. I'd be perfectly happy if they never touched the Joshua tree again.
  7. Wonder if they'll change the intermission tonight??
  8. 3/4 of the JT is better than half of the current setlist. Of performed with passion. You are the worst thing of me should Be dropped. I like the live version of American soul.
  9. Drop the intermission and f... Play that song!

Absolutely not. "Lights of Home" is a crucial song to the narrative ; with the third song opening with the lyrics "I shouldn't be here, I should be dead." it is a centrepoint of the show. Also the ending coda is repeated during "Iris", so it works very well. IWF does not belong there - it's the song that leads into the second quarter.

The acoustic section that runs into Pride is fine by me.

American Soul is a very important part of the show, lyrically, visually, and thematically.

A U2 show isn't just a bunch of songs stuck together in an order to get the crowd rockin' and hasn't been like that since 1992.
