I hope they bring the song though, it’s so good live.
Volcano will probably replace AS in Europe
  2. Volcano was a dull song when they played it live though. If "American Soul" is Vertigo, then "Volcano" is Native Son.

    "Volcano" "Glastonbury" is Native Son
  4. Glastonbury would be best option

I enjoyed it much more the the 7 versions of Elevation I got !!
  6. i think that nowadays i prefer the acoustic version of YTBTAM than studio version
  7. I think the acoustic version should be dropped and never mentioned again but it's all about individual taste
  8. So what do you folks vote for in the category of "best warhorse update for 2018"?

I think it has to be Pride. It really packs an incredible emotional punch this year. After the spirit-dampening imagery for Staring At the Sun, the raw beginning of Pride that kicks in right after that is one of the most joyous and uplifting things that U2 has ever done.

After hearing it so many times last year, it seemed like Pride would just be the same as it ever was for the rest of U2's touring career, but they've really done something magical with it this year.

Second and third place I think I'll go with Desire and The Ocean. The Ocean really feels like it is a vital part of the narrative for Iris, and I never thought I'd be saying that The Ocean was an important and key piece of the show, but here we are. And they've found a great spot for Desire this year. Sandwiched between Vertigo and Acrobat, it absolutely belongs there. They really nailed that part of the show, all the way from Elevation to GOOYOW and American Soul.
  9. Great post, cleazer- and I fully agree.
  10. +1

I disagree about The Ocean. It's frustrating to hear the other 3 members play the song and Bono couldn't be arsed to sing one line of the song. It's just rambling and it's used only as an excuse to introduce Iris. Yes, the transition is very smooth but they're wasting 2 minutes of that song.
