Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. GREETINGS U2START! I HAVE RETURNED FROM MY HIBERNATION (by which I mean, self-imposed blackout to avoid tour spoilers) AS I HAVE FINALLY SEEN THIS SHOW! I WAS THERE LAST NIGHT IN MONTREAL! HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS!:

    1. I had a great time

    2. I've seen 80% of this show before....two years ago...bummer

    3. THE OCEAN. GLORIA. MOTHER FUCKING ACROBAT. WHAT THE FUUUUUUU-

    4. MACPHISTO - but....was he actually done justice? He was there to make fun of Trump and sort of comment on the world right now - the old Macphisto would've been there in 2018 to thank everyone for seeing his dreams come true, and to thank everyone for using guns and all that shit - maybe Bono isn't as ballsy as he used to be - BUT - still really cool

    5. This was Pop-cocktease the show! (C'mon, that cool comic video had the fuckin' Popmart stage front and center - I was expecting a Popmart mini set)

    6. Pop blueballs the show! (Bono brought Pop up before playing Staring at the Sun - which was fantastic, but c'mon)

    7. Not nearly enough new conceptual stuff based around "Experience", and funnily enough, my least favourite track (American Soul) was the biggest crowd pleaser of them all hahaha. The other tunes were performed great, apart from The Best Thing which they've still never learned how to play (should've went with the Kygo version boys), and Get out of Your Own Way was at the WRONG place in the set, and Love is Bigger was just a little weak - the crowd was not up for it.

Finally. I've been wondering where you've been all this time!

Really great to see your comments and that you enjoyed the show!

Do you, by any chance, have a video of your face when you realized they were about to play Acrobat?

Did you get the whole MRI sequence at the start of the show?

Haha, unfortunately I don’t have a video of that! But as soon as it started it was all goosebumps and me screaming, and tons of confused people around me in the GA area haha. I just grabbed my friend (also a massive fan) and said “NO!” - couldn’t believe it. Still can’t. Not to mention they performed it beautifully. In that moment I realized why it’s such an important song in the U2 canon, whereas I’ve always been one of the people saying “yeah it’s great but so what”. How wrong I’ve been.

And no, I realized it was a brain on the screen and that it was something LIKE that, but no, what was the significance? Something to do with Bono’s near-death experience? It was really eerie and really set the tone for the first three songs, that’s for sure.

I’ll add to my intial comment a bit and say I was sad not to hear more Experience songs, especially Little Things. And while I understand why they didn’t play any JT songs, a U2 show without Streets? Hmmmm... there’s probably like 10 other warhorses in the show still that I would remove before I removed that song.
  4. Not sure if anyone can help me or knows. But I have GA tickets for Boston. I have recently had some health issues which requires use of a cane especially for use when standing for periods of time. Do you think there will be an issue bringing it in? I am not handicapped nor do I have a placard as this is hopefully temporary but there is no way I will be able to walk all the way into the arena and stand in GA for hours without some form of support. I don't plan on trying to get close to the stage and was going to stand a little back so i wouldn't bother anyone.
  5. You could ask the venue to change you to handicap seating. I had to do that once when companion had leg injury, venue was helpful.

Shouldn’t be an issue. When I attended a show in Chicago a couple weeks ago the couple in front of us had a cane that doubled as a chair and they were seated for a period of time in the GA section.
  7. So they’ve really just been switching up 1 (maybe 2) tunes per night on the multi night stands? That’s kinda disappointing...
  8. Welcome to U2Start, ya'll.
  9. Not 2, just one.
  10. So, I have a humble request for anyone that plans on attending and doing any video for an upcoming show... Could someone do the whole Women of the World / One sequence? I have only been able to find one video from San Jose of this, but it's not the best. I've been trying to find a good version.

  11. Hello out there!
Has anyone a picture out of the actual tour book which shows a sketch setlist drawing from Willie Williams (?) from 2015 or so?
