Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. I can imagine that the situation is very difficult right now. U2 surely have insurance for gigs being canceled because of health issues, but part of the gig was played. I am no lawyer, but I can imagine that in the case of a re-fund the insurance company might say that part of the concert was played, so they won't pay a full re-fund. The same with the cost of a replacement show. The lawyers of the insurance company might say that there was a concert no matter how long it was, it doesn't say anywhere how many songs should be played and so they would not pay anything.

Again, I have absolutely no knowledge of those things, but there are tons of money involved and I can imagine that the lawyers' negotiation might not be nice. It surely is not the first time ever a gig got canceled after a couple of songs, but it is a fairly rare situation.

  2. Okay, then it really looks more like a mistake and maybe the gigs before Madrid were never there. Cancelling the first part of the tour incl. Madrid would make a sense, this actually doesn't
  3. Just checked Google Cache, and they never had any events before Madrid. So nothing to worry about.
  4. Thanks Remy
  5. So the post UTEOTW part is called The Vertigo part

  6. Not sure if this is the right thread to put in or if it’s even the site to discuss but does anyone know who they’re on about?

If it’s either or, could one of the admins move it to the right thread or just remove the post?

Just ask them. They have some weird tweeters.
  8. Real Thing seems a bit empty in the drum build bits the start and before "you take us higher" - could do with some of the delay they had on the drums in 2015 and/or some dancy tambourines/synth drums

I gotta say I was quite pleased with the songs that formed the "narrative" of the U.S. shows I went to. I was there for the first performance of Red Flag Day (which I told my son was the new song I wanted most to hear on tour!) and I was thrilled. I told my son also the only other thing that would have made my night was a performance of Summer of Love. Now, Europe gets to hear it! :-) I'm sorry to see Love Is All We Have Left, Raised By Wolves, Staring At The Sun, and (yes) American Soul fall to the curb. I didn't particularly like American Soul at first listen...but when I heard it live--wow! And the audience response was fantastic. But, I understand it may not work for the European "narrative."
