1. Don’t get it too personal ... if you never got bd player you don’t know the difference;p

I just wanted to point out that 142minute video plus LPCM plus DD5.1 plus DTS 5.1 leaves really little space for image bitrate.... and we gonna get artifacts etc... just rewatch Chicago to get the idea what I’m taking about

Then put on Killers from Albert Hall or Muse from Rome on BluRay ... or Rocknrall hall of fame Blu-ray with U2 and spot the difference ... massive

Screw this Ive been saying from 2014 ... Guy Oseary should be fired immediately ... and U2 should pay little more interest in their loyal fan base ... not only say they have best fans in the world ... that’s not enough

Like said earlier this “dvd” is just a tip of an iceberg
  2. I am very much appreciating that gift that I cannot obtain :/

They're still awesome. They still look good. They still sound good. It's usually on in the background anyways, so sound is secondary. And it's enough to keep me until the next U2 concert - I've been sober for coming up on 3 years in June

I also watch the old U2 concert DVDs on my full HD screen! I always enjoy.
  4. This years gift is just a lazy idea - I'm thinking of how interesting and cool The Beatles Anthology albums are - nothing special about getting a show that will be realesed to the genersl public in a few weeks!! Boring....:

  5. If anyone's keen on a somewhat high-resolution version of the artwork, I've scanned and edited the artwork as best as I could. Help yourself.

    You can find it here.

Matt, the difference is brutal. I have a blu-ray player for ten years, and since then, I have never bought a DVD again. This year I won a device that plays blu-ray / 4k, and the quality is very bigger. The big question is that they did it in the cheapest way to reduce cost, because they know that fans will spend 50 dollars anyway. If the majority is satisfied, perhaps the TJT´17 concert will be released on VHS. U2 has always been at the forefront of technology, and taking a step back is strange.

Unlike when dvd took over from VHS and essentially wiped it out this hasn’t been and won’t be the case with blu rays/4K to DVD’s. In fact it wouldn’t be at all strange if u2 have taken note of this and decide to make all future releases dvd only with a higher format only available digitally. Physical sales continue to decline every year and blu Ray is always below dvd, 4K isn’t anywhere near dvd for sales. The band can’t release something just because of technological advancements they have to sell what people want to buy.
  9. Well, if they end up selling the Blu Ray to the public, then I really will be irritated.... as it would be nice even in the fan club to have a choice.... like I would pay $55 instead of $45 to select the Blu Ray over the Dvd...that would be the nice option. If people don't have Blu Ray Players, then they can pay the $45 to buy the dvd.....
  10. I don't even know anyone who has a DVD player OR a blu ray player anymore ?
  11. I’ll play it through my Xbox (showing my age)
  12. I have a blu ray player with excellent sound system.
