oh I'm excited. I've just put the lates girmware on it and now I just have to wait. A little dissapointed with the build quality. My click wheel seems to be a little loose. Not madly, it just moves around a little in its holder. It lacks the wow factor that I used to get from previous ipods too (but I dodn't buy it for the wow factor so thats no biggy)

    which headphones are you using?

if your using the ones that came with the iPod, then those are not that good....

I recommend on Panisonic headphones, the're amazing!
  10. Well I finally saw the new nano today. What an ugly thing.

I asked about the classics and they had sold out within a few hours in several stores. So if I can't get mine to work again I'll probably sell this one on eBay for parts. Someone can do something with it because I can't. I have a new drive cable and battery coming, if that doesn't work it's the board, and I'll grab a classic 80GB. That's plenty of room for my 4GB of MP3s and a couple of decent video bootlegs.

What are your songs encoded at in Kbps, and check your Equaliser settings on the iPod.

ditched the standard heafphones without opening them. I'm now using a set on Senheisser CX300's which are very very good but the ipod itself is fundamentaly flawed. Just read the reciews over on apple.coms support section. The sound quality is disgusting

I can't stress to you enough Drew to ditch the idea of a Classic (at least until Apple sort it). The only bootlegs that I find listenable are DVD rips of official material (and even they are crap).

To put it into perspective my Samsung phone offers better audio playback>

I've just ripped my albums at 128kps which is pretty standard and worked well with my old 4G ipod. With 128kps theres a constant hiss through the tracks. I'm gna try and rip them at a higer quality to see if that helps at all.

    Apple have gone Pear shaped
